Do All the Good You Can!

Friends,
After this week’s midterm elections, many of us are feeling something we haven’t felt in a while: a renewed sense of hope and needed change for our country. As results came in and states began to flip in historic ways, it was exciting to witness what can happen when people come together, share their gifts, raise their voices, and participate in shaping a different future. It was a reminder that our individual contributions matter, and together, we can make a difference.
That spirit of shared possibility is at the heart of our pledge season! This Sunday, we kick off a new series guided by a simple but powerful phrase attributed to John Wesley: “Do all the good you can.” Together, we’ll explore what it means to make these words more than a saying, but a way of living out our faith. Drawing on the words of the prophet Amos, Jesus’ call to keep our lamps burning, and the story of early Methodist pioneer Susanna Wesley, we’ll reflect on how we can put our faith into action and how, by bringing our gifts together, we can do more good in the world together than we ever could apart.
As we look ahead to merging our congregations and becoming one, we have so much to be excited about and so much good we can do together!
Join us this Sunday as we celebrate the gifts we bring, imagine what’s possible, and begin a new season of generosity. Let’s keep our lamps burning and do all the good we can, together!
Alongside you,
Pastor Paul Ortiz
